Award-winning travel writer Sherri Eisenberg has been wandering the globe for over a decade, penning pieces on restaurants, cruises, and hotels in places like Bora Bora and Bangkok. Born in Philadelphia and raised in Washington, D.C, Sherri lived in Paris before moving to New York—and it’s in these last two cities that her love of food was born.
Today, she is as comfortable in tiny roadside fish taco stands in Mexico as she is in the formal dining rooms of Europe, and loves to explore a destination through its cuisine. Eisenberg is a contributing editor for Travel and Leisure and has been an editor at Travel Holiday and Brides, where she took a honeymoon almost every month. She has also been published in Condé Nast Traveler, Budget Travel magazine, and The Los Angeles Times. Her work has been translated into French, Spanish, and Italian. Sherri speaks frequently as a travel expert on conference panels, to groups, and to the press.
She has written about 370 cities in 33 countries, and sailed on dozens of cruise ships on assignment—and now she turns her expert eye on her adopted hometown.
In her free time, Sherri runs an amateur cooking competition, affectionately dubbed “Iron Chef Brooklyn,” out of her apartment. It’s not at all professional—it really should be called “tin chef” or “aluminum chef”—but it’s a fun, tasty way to spend an afternoon. Check out the pictures here.
